Trapped in Sumatra
huddled animals lament
the loss of their homes
Exposed by the flames
politicians showcase their
gross incompetence
Where is the concern?
we must protect the forests
and find our way home
Our self-destructive
lust for ever-increasing
growth is misguided
Unfazed by the Haze
we enrich ourselves for what?
to reap the ashes?
We dream of riches
and end up building a world
unsustainable
We’ll choke on our wealth
while climate change destroys us
and all living things
