    October haiku

    winter nudges fall
red leaves rustle at death’s door
    dust returns to dust

    haze sweeping in
    blue skies morph into darkness
    man-made disaster

    my poor back still aches
    the humble cotton futon
    kills poetic thoughts

    in a tour bus to
    Fuji Shibazakura
    dream of sweet blossoms
