Once miles and miles
of road stretched ahead of me
and every turn and hill
represented opportunity
Now it’s just fading
pictures and visions
in my memory
Like a wristwatch
with a mainspring
slowly unwinding
my life is uncoiling
Now the days unfold
like a slow motion
sequence in a movie
I can’t remember if my
socks are on – I need rewinding
